Arthur Zwane Bemoans Missed Chances Against Orlando Pirates! Amakhosi lost out to The Buccaneers over the weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-1 against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup semifinals on Saturday evening. Head coach Arthur Zwane was left lamenting the chances that they missed.

Kermit Erasmus gave the Buccaneers the lead in the first half, after fine work from Miguel Timm and Monnapule Saleng. Yusuf Maart equalized for Amakhosi in the second half.

Defender Sandile Mthethwa scored the winning goal late into extra time.

“I think we had the opportunity to go to the final.” Mangethe told SuperSport TV.

“We had the first chance. That was a clear-cut chance, right inside the six yards, could have connected with the ball. We couldn’t take it, and then right just after that, we conceded a goal against the run of play.

“I think we looked like we were compact that time, but they managed to penetrate us, and get a goal. And then we started playing now, we imposed ourselves. But we did not create enough chances, but we got another one where we could have at least equalized, go into half time 1-1.

“In the second half we had to change our strategy a little bit, put them on their back foot so that we could go on the front foot as well. I think we did very well, although we did not take the few chances we created. After the equalizer, I think they were there for the taking.

“We were just supposed to put them under pressure even more, and we had chances, especially on the far post. We just did not take those chances, from Sifiso [Hlanti], Caleb [Bimenyimana] and Ash [Ashley Du Preez].

“In extra time again, I think we got another chance, that we did not take, against the run of play as well.” He stated.
