Lebogang Phiri has left Ligue 2 side EA Guingamp after his contract expired at the end of June. He has signed a three-year deal with the club.
Phiri spent 4 years in France with EA Guingamp. He was in Sweden prior to that.
“Our Çaykur Rizespor has signed a 3-year deal with star midfielder Lebogang Phiri.” The club announced in a statement.
“Our Vice President and Press Spokesman Selim Selimoğlu attended the signing ceremony for Lebogang Phiri, who attached himself to the colours green-blue for 3 years.
“South African National Team player Phiri, who spent the last season in Guingamp, one of the French 2nd League teams, started football in the Bidvest Wits AY team in his country. Transferred to Bröndby IF, one of the Danish teams in 2013, the 26-year-old player has been running in France since 2017.
“We welcome Lebogang Phiri to our club and wish him success. It is announced with our respect to our community and the public.”
Caykur Rizespor will commence with their 2021/2022 Super Lig season on the third of August. The Turkish league is a competitive one.
Phiri will be coming up against big teams like Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Istanbul Basaksehir and much more. He is one of many South Africans to grace the Turkish league.
