Thembi Kgatlana alongside Noko Matlou are two of the Banyana Banyana stars contracted to La Liga side SD Eibar. Thembi Kgatlana scored the only goal of the game as Eibar defeated Espanyol on Saturday.
The only dampener on the game is that the 24-year-old had to be substituted off in the 35th minute due to an injury. Details of her injury are yet to be disclosed.
Kgatlana will be hoping her injury is extremely short term. She will look to extend her goal scoring for her new side.
In somewhat of a scrappy goal, Kgatlana was the first to pounce on a loose ball as the Espanyol goalkeeper parried a shot in the box.
Kgatlana displayed her strikers’ instinct by being the first to react to the loose ball.
The first half goal was enough to see SD Eibar dispatch of rivals Espanyol.
