In a strange turn of events from the football club, Baroka announced that they have agreed terms with Thoko Matsimela to become full time coach.
They agreed this before announcing that they had cut their ties with former coach Dylan Kerr.
Baroka FC have won two and drawn in their opening three games. This leaves them in unfamiliar second place.
They trail league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns only on goal difference. The club also announced that Thomas Nare, Spaghetti, will continue to serve as Matsimela’s assistant.
Dylan Kerr was suspended by Bakgakga because of comments he made about the management of the club.
Kerr exclaimed that Baroka should afford him the room to run the club without any management superior to him.
Baroka Chairman Khushiri Mpahlele had set a disciplinary hearing of 9 November 2020 for Kerr.
“The DC has set the date for the 9th of November,” Mphahlele told KickOff.com. “The club is waiting for him if
he will accept the date.”
Dylan Kerr was also head coach at fellow DSTV Premiership side Black Leopards.
It is yet to be seen whether Thoko Matsimela can continue the form he showed as an interim coach as a head coach.
