BECKIE EXTENDS CITY STAY

Manchester City are delighted to announce Janine Beckie has signed a new deal with the Club.WOMEN’S TEAMKeira Walsh: A dream in my heart

The Canada international has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, extending her stay in Manchester to 2022.

Commended for her pace, commitment and positive attitude, the forward played a key role in helping City to domestic cup double success, netting 13 goals – most notably converting the winning penalty in the Continental Cup shoot-out victory over Arsenal in 2019.

Across her 46 appearances, Beckie has also showcased her impressive versatility: employed on the wings and even recently at right-back in the absence of the injured Aoife Mannion.

The 25-year-old is also admired for her team ethic, work rate and cheerful personality and follows in the footsteps of teammates Steph HoughtonLauren HempCaroline WeirKeira Walsh and Jess Park in committing her future, asserting joining City has exceeded all expectations.

“I am absolutely delighted to be extending my time here at City,” she declared.

“The last two years have been more than I could have imagined and after the progress and memories I have made so far, there was no doubt when it came to making the decision to re-sign.
