Benni McCarthy Frustrated With AmaZulu’s Lack of Clinical Finishing! AmaZulu played out to a 1-1 draw with SuperSport United yesterday.

It was yet another game of dominance and chance creation, but only a point to show for it. AmaZulu are now winless in their last 4 matches, losing once and drawing 3 times.

“It is becoming now like the same old story. You play well, you dominate games, you create clear-cut chances and players just take for granted that you don’t need to score goals to win games,” McCarthy told SuperSport TV after the game.

“You can’t play the way we play and dominate every game since I became AmaZulu coach, and yet we have nothing to show for it. It gets a bit frustrating.

“My patience is running a bit out now, I feel that the players need to ask more of themselves. It is too easy … when you drop points away like this and no-one wants to take accountability for it. Your job becomes difficult.

“Bloem Celtic it was the same situation. Kaizer Chiefs the same situation, Maritzburg was exactly the same. And now today. I don’t want this to become the AmaZulu team that people know, we play fantastic [football], we dominate games, we dominate possession but then we get zero from it.

“We have to be strong and keep going, keep fighting and hopefully now the transfer window is open the president can see that we need to add to the squad, which is necessary.

“The squad is good, but there are still pieces of the puzzle missing. Hopefully we can go into the market and bring in someone who is willing to take leadership in this team and go and win games for us.”
