McCarthy laments that his players deserve all the credit for adopting all his methods.

“Listen it not really much what me and technical team does, only what we do is just give our players confidence the belief in themselves, the belief that they fantastic individual but as collective they unbelievable and they got to use that,” McCarthy tells media.

“Better themselves individually but make the team a better team and that what they’ve done, we’ve got an unbelievable team spirit in the team, we work and when we work, we work exceptional hard and try to have fun, challenge each other at training, the players have to take all the credit for what been the turn round that has been happening in the team

“Because they go on the pitch week in and week out, we give them guidelines to be technical guidelines but they still have to go there and execute the plan so they must take all the credit for turnaround of the club, it a combination of good technical team and players, we have never die attitude.”

The victory against Kaizer Chiefs saw AmaZulu pick up 4 points from Chiefs and Swallows. This proved to be a great stay in Gauteng for Usuthu.

“We’ve been getting last minutes goals in the last few games now, we were unfortunately against Swallows but beggars can’t be choosers, you took a point against team sitting in the second position without and now take three points at FNB against the mighty Amakhosi so you know it not a bad week for us away from home.”
