Betway Premiership Clubs in Fierce Battle for Orlando Pirates Midfielder Miguel Timm

Betway Premiership clubs are locked in a fierce contest to secure the services of out-of-favour Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm. The experienced player has seen limited game time this season, prompting interest from rival clubs looking to bolster their squads.

Timm, who joined Pirates from Marumo Gallants in 2022, extended his contract with the Soweto giants in June 2024, with an option for an additional year. However, despite his commitment to the club, he has struggled for playing time, a concerning development for the 33-year-old midfielder.

Injuries have further hampered his progress, leading to him losing his place in the starting lineup. The likes of Makhehlene Makhaula and Thalente Mbatha have stepped up in his absence, while Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Goodman Mosele have also returned to prominence in the squad.

According to sources, AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United are keen on signing Timm and have already inquired about his availability. Both clubs are expected to make formal offers ahead of the upcoming season, hoping to secure his signature before other suitors emerge.

“Both clubs are monitoring the player’s situation at Pirates very closely, especially since the club still has an option for an additional year,” a source told KickOff.com.

“The thing is, Pirates have not yet made a decision on the player’s future. With the coach leaving, things might change a bit, though the chances are slim, I must say.”

When Timm left Marumo Gallants, he was heavily linked with Sekhukhune United but ultimately opted to join Pirates. Now, with his future at the club uncertain, Sekhukhune could reignite their interest.

During his three-year spell with Pirates, Timm has won three MTN8 trophies and a Nedbank Cup, cementing his place as an experienced and decorated midfielder. However, with competition for places intensifying at the club, a move away could provide him with the game time he seeks.

As the transfer window approaches, the battle for Timm’s signature is expected to intensify, with both AmaZulu and Sekhukhune aiming to strengthen their midfield options with his experience and leadership.
