Bidvest Wits underlined their title credentials with a 3-1 win over Chippa United this afternoon. Victory saw the clever boys shoot to the summit of ABSA premiership standings after Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs played a goaless draw at FNB stadium yesterday evening.
Wits were quick off the blocks with new signing James Keene providing an assist that was scored by Phakamani Mahlambi to put the visitors 1 nil in front after 8 minutes.
Bidvest Wits doubled their lead in the 48th minute courtesy of James Keene who this time turned scorer, picking up a goal on debut.
Chippa United pulled on goal back in the 53rd minute after Mbuyane struick for the hosts. The Clever Boys put the game to rest after Ben Motshware latched onto a poor clearance before firing home a third for the visitors.
