Swallows FC drew 0-0 away to Cape Town City in their MTN 8 semi-final first leg. Head coach Brandon Truter was pleased to return to the Athlone Stadium after a while.

The game itself was a free-flowing affair. Both teams created opportunities which were not taken.

However, Swallows did find it hard to grab a stranglehold of the game. Cape Town City exerted their swag on the affairs.

“Ja, it’s nice to go back to Athlone stadium,” Truter said to the press.

“Some good memories there as well, and not so good as well with previous employers but having said that and coming back to the game as well, Rob, coach Tinkler has brought about a bit of steel, a bit of bite in the team, that’s his character, that’s the way he played as well.

“So ja, you could see it in the first game against AmaZulu, the 50-50’s Cape Town City were very dominant, so the steel, the bite in midfield, the way the coach, his personality is, that’s much more in evident with coach Tinkler, they have now so ja, a bit of steel, but we can still see the patterns the build-up play from the previous coach or from Cape Town City, that’s their philosophy and their playing structure.
