Ever since his retirement, Brighton Mhlongo has ventured into the media industry. He recently visited the set of Podcast Chill with Mac G.
This is vindicative of the spaces which Brighton Mhlongo gets to visit in her new career space.
The former Bidvest Wits goalkeeper went into an early retirement last year after suffering an eye injury in training. This is while he was still a Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (now Marumo Gallants) player.
After this, his media venture began. He is the media ambassador for Grootman Restaurant, the food establishment of former teammate Lucky Lekgwathi.
Mhlongo also works as a sports correspondent to a football show with the popular William Lehong. He can also be heard on radio with other sports personalities.
This means that Brighton Mhlongo has somewhat thrived in his retirement, instead of wallowing in sadness.
After early retirement, the PSL paid the goalkeeper a very cool R2 million in provident insurance, to reimburse whatever salary he may miss out on because of this. So, it is very good for him that he can also find employment and not permanently rely on his pay-out.
