Can Orlando Pirates salvage Poor season?
In the teams 80th year of existence one would think that this would be a season filled with joy for the “sea robbers” however that is not the case.
At the beginning of the season club chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza tipped the 2016/17 season as the one were the buccaneers would go for all out glory to celebrate a land mark 80 years.
However such is not the case. This is probably by far one of the worst seasons for Orlando Pirates.
They find themselves sitting out of the top 8 and they might not even qualify for the top 8 which will be a first since the inception of the PSL in 1996.
They can however rescue their poor season by going all the way in the Nedbank Cup competition, but they will have to go through an in-form Golden Arrows on Sunday afternoon at the Princess Magogo Stadium in the semi-finals. Should they go all the way and win the competition this will surely console their supporters.
