Sekhukhune United has won promotion into the PSL, three weeks after the NFD season ended. This means that Royal AM will finish second and participate in the promotion playoffs.

After the final day of the GladAfrica Championship, Royal AM topped the table with 51 points. Sekhukhune came second with 50 points.

However, a trophy handover was postponed as this cloud was hanging over the NFD.
