Cape Town City Unveil 2025/26 Home Kit Inspired by Early Years

Cape Town City have unveiled their home kit for the 2025/26 season, drawing inspiration from the club’s early seasons in South Africa’s top flight.
The new design, created by Umbro, was revealed over the weekend and debuted during City’s Motsepe Foundation Championship opener against Venda FA at Athlone Stadium, a match that ended in a 0-0 draw. The club showcased the kit across its social media platforms, describing it as a modern reimagining of a classic look.
The home strip revives a bold gold stripe across the torso, a notable feature from the club’s 2017/18 and 2018/19 Umbro kits. This element had been part of City’s design identity until 2020, and its return has been received positively by fans as a tribute to the team’s recent history.
While the club did not specify which past kit served as the blueprint, the design clearly blends tradition with modernity. The gold stripe adds a striking visual element while maintaining the familiar City aesthetic.
Cape Town City aim to combine their heritage with fresh energy as they target promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The new kit symbolizes a connection to the club’s roots while signaling ambition for the upcoming season.
