He joined Masandawana as an unknown in 2016 from the Portuguese club, Associação Académica de Coimbra. The Brazilian defender struggled with an injury in his first season but came back and made a name for himself.

At Sundowns he was one of the most trusted penalty takers, bear in mind, he is a defender – a center-back. With Sundowns dominating the domestic football and competing in the CAF Champions League, Nascimento was a regular.

In his six years with Sundowns, Nascimento played 144 games and scored 17 goals. He was released by Downs because they had to open the space for the foreign player Erwin Saavedra.

He indeed enjoyed his time with the Brazilians and gave gratitude to the club when he departed.

“I’m very grateful to Sundowns for all these years I have worn this shirt and for all the titles and achievements we have been able to conquer together as a team. I would also like to thank President Patrice Motsepe for all the support he has always given to me and my family,” said Nascimento.
