Gomora United Close to Signing Former Orlando Pirates Defender

Gomora United are in the final stages of signing former Orlando Pirates centre-back Justice Chabalala as they look to strengthen their defence in their debut season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The Alexandra-based club earned promotion after winning the ABC Motsepe Provincial Play-offs in the off-season. They have played two league games so far, collecting three points in their season opener against Leicesterford City before losing to Venda Football Club. Gomora United will host University of Pretoria at TUT Stadium on Sunday.

Sources close to the club confirmed that Chabalala is training with the squad and impressing the technical team. Ex-Royal AM captain Lesego Manganyi is also on the verge of signing, having trained with the team alongside Chabalala.

If both players complete their deals, they will join veteran defender Rooi Mahamutsa, providing Gomora United with experience and leadership at the back. The club currently sits seventh in the standings.

The additions aim to provide stability and defensive strength as Gomora United adapt to the demands of the second-tier league and aim to secure a solid foundation for their maiden season.
