Chiefs Out To Punish Baroka
In form Kaizer Chiefs will be away in Polokwane against Baroka FC. Baroka will host Chiefs in an ABSA Premiership encounter. Baroka are currently sitting at the bottom of the PSL table and will do whatever it takes to win and gain 3 points to move out of the relegation zone and fight to survive in the top flight league in South Africa. Baroka remain at the bottom of the league standings with 14 points from 20 matches.
Kaizer Chiefs will go into this encounter with an injury free squad and they have a lot of options to select players for the encounter. Kaizer Chiefs have also sorted out players contracts and are now in focus with a squad that is free from boardroom politics. Chiefs last played in the Nedbank Cup and won 3-0 against Stellenbosch FC. When Baroka and Chiefs met in the first-round league game, the two sides played to a goalless stalemate in Durban five months ago.
A win for Kaizer Chiefs will see them climb up to the 3rd spot of the PSL table. Chiefs are currently 4th on the PSL with 35 points after 20 games. Speaking to media yesterday, Steve Khompela said, “We are taking each game at a time. We are in the crucial stage of the PSL were every game and team is important and we will not undermine any side. Baroka, are fighting for survival and we are fighting for the PSL title”. Kick-off is at 8:15pm at Peter Mokaba stadium.
