City Coach Benni McCarthy To Face PSL DC For ‘Cow’ Comment
City Coach Benni McCarthy To Face PSL DC For ‘Cow’ Comment! After City FC lost 2-1 to Chippa United back in October, the former Bafana Bafana striker then slammed City’s senior players during a post-match interview and labelled referee Phillip Tinyani a ‘cow’.
“I think some of our senior players need a wake-up call. They deserve a slap or two,” McCarthy said. Asked for comment on the referee of that match Benni responded with, “Don’t ask me about that cow!”
Now both Benni and and club have been ordered to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee next week Tuesday, November 21.
“Mr Benni McCarthy and the Club have been charged with contravening the Rule 54.3.6 of the NSL Handbook following Mr McCarthy’s post-match comments directed at match official Mr Phillip Tinyani at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium after the club’s fixture against Chippa United on 22 October 2017,” the PSL said in a statement.
