City set to announce new coach.

After a shocking move by Eric Tinkler, deciding to move to Supersport United after having a successful season with Cape Town City FC, the team is set to announce their new coach today at 11h00 am.

Tinkler guided City to a third place finish and a Telkom Knockout Cup win, however he opted to leave the Citizen’s. Several names have been thrown in the hat as to who is the coach set to replace Tinkler.

Ruud Krol and Benni McCarthy have been some of the names which have circulated around the football fraternity. However it looks like McCarthy seems to be the favorite, the former Bafana Bafana star is rumored to have flown to Cape Town yesterday afternoon.

If he lands the job, it will be his first coaching gig. McCarthy has obtained a Uefa Coaching license, besides that he is a very competitive person at heart.

It remains to be seen whether the Commitis will go for the experienced Krol or the former Bafana Bafana star.
