With the PSL season to finally reach its conclusion in September, we look at former PSL stars who will have run out their contracts at their respective clubs, without any extension, leaving them club less. Mark Mayambela
One of the most skilled technicians to ever play in the division, Mark Mayambela is now without a team and is looking to make the most of what is left of his career. The former Orlando Pirates and 2x treble winner has a lot to offer the PSL and will surely secure a team before the new season begins.
Thabo Rakhale
The former Orlando Pirates winger sees his contract at Chippa United elapse, with Rakhale reluctant to extend his stay at the P.E side. It will be interesting to see which team in the PSL or NFD will require the services of the technically gifted winger.
Patrick Phungwayo
Another former Orlando Pirates expat, the forward thinking left-back finds himself without a team. Now in his early 30’s, he still has a lot to offer in the PSL. The flying full back is a welcome addition to any side short on defensive enforcement.
Mandla Masango
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns winger experienced a resurgence in his career when he came back from the dirt to provide amazing performances for Bafana Bafana in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. He had since represented SuperSport United, but now finds himself without a club and has a short amount of time to rectify this before the 2020/21 season kicks off.
