Coach Rulani Mokwena Defends His Honesty After Controversial Statement! The Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach has been trending for some bold comments.

Rulani Mokwena took to his official Twitter account to defend his own statements. He was vilified on social media after confirming a rift between the coaches at the club.

The coach confirmed reports of himself, Manqoba Mngqithi and Steve Komphela failing to see eye-to-eye. This led to his being ostracised.

Mokwena went on to defend his honesty on his Twitter account.

“I’m toxic because I spoke the truth when I was asked a question. Maybe we are country that doesn’t appreciate honesty…” he said.

“There isn’t a problem. No one is a problem.

“Don’t let things get blown out of proportion. The issue published was dealt with internally and like I said in the presser, we move on.” The coach added.

Earlier in the day, ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns’ tie against Kaizer Chiefs, Mokwena addressed the media. He confirmed of a rift, but also said that an apology was issued and that they have moved on.

“It’s difficult one to answer, it’s also difficult to come across as not being honest. But at the same time also to protect the club as we’ve got a very, very big game at the weekend.

‘Our focus and our energies must be on that.

“But also, in the corner of my brain, there’s also the need to clarify some of the things and it’s a pity because sometimes some of the things come out and you’re like ‘oh my goodness, how did this get out.

“That is probably the biggest issue, having a mole and having people that report certain things to the media.” Mokwena stated.
