CONFIRMED: Chippa United Announce Gavin Hunt’s Successor!

Chippa United have appointed Daine klate to take the reins as their head coach after sacking Gavin Hunt towards the end of last year. Kurt Lentjies has been an interim coach for the club since December but was suspended this past week.

It’s now a norm that Chill Boys fire coaches now and then and all eyes are staring at Klate who undoubtedly has pressure on his shoulders. The former Orlando Pirates left-winger has never coached in the PSL and comes in with an experience he acquired from the DStv Diski Challenge.

“Chippa United FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Daine Klate as the Head Coach for the 2022/2023 season,” the club said in a statement.

The team is also currently in Semi-finals of DSTV Diski Shield.

“Daine will be assisted by Bruce July and Siya Gwambi and we wish him all the best as he embarks on this mammoth task.”

FORMER CHIPPA COACH REUNITES WITH SUPERSPORT

SuperSport United last week appointed former Chippa mentor Gavin Hunt as the first team head coach ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 season. Hunt has been free since he left the Eastern Cape side last year before Stuart Baxter took over. At first, he was linked with the head coach role at Royal AM before they employed Khabo Zondo.

This will be the second time that Hunt manages Matsatsantsa after he had almost seven years run with the club from 2007 to 2013. He led the Pretoria based club to three league titles and Nedbank Cup. With the management looking to reconstruct the club, they behold Hunt as the perfect man to prepare for future.
