Employees of Grootman Restaurant were left traumatised after being robbed at gunpoint. Lucky Lekgwathi has since pleaded with the public to help him catch the suspects.

This happened two nights ago at his fast-food joint. The former Bafana Bafana defender was at his home when he got a call to come to the restaurant.

There, he found out what happened. Fortunately for Lekgwathi, the perpetrators have been caught on camera and the is a hunt to catch them.

“I was at home and had to rush to the shop,” Lekgwathi disclosed on his Instagram page.

“Then I called the police. I was scared because these thugs beat the workers up and I do not understand why they would do such a thing.

“My main concern was the safety of the workers. I have put up videos and pictures of them on social media, and I am confident they will be arrested.

“We must all work together to stop crime. I want to appeal to the community to help us to identify these people.

“If people can recognise them, please go to Booysens police station or come to our shop.” He added.

Last year the restaurant was a cruel victim of the looting that happened in Soweto. The restaurant was severely damaged and had to close their Kliptown shop.

They reopened in Southdale, after receiving donations from the public. Criminals Rob Lucky Lekgwathi’s Grootman Restaurant at Gunpoint!
