Ronaldo has now scored 760 official goals for club and country. He has surpassed the long-time record held by Czech striker Josef Bican.

There was controversy surrounding the amount of goals that the great Brazilian Pele had scored in his illustrious career. Pele and Santos insist that the striker scored over 1 000 goals for club and country.

Statisticians, however, insist that some of these goals were in youth level and unofficial games. Officially, Ronaldo’s 760 is the highest amount of goals.

Ronaldo started off his career with Sporting Lisbon in his hometown of Madeira in Portugal. He scored 5 goals for the club.
