EXCLUSIVE: Richards Bay To Unveil Three players Next Week

Richards Bay FC coach Pitso Dladla has confirmed that the club is not done in the market as they still look to add three players to their squad. The Natal Rich Boyz are the newbies in the league and hoping to keep their top flight status in the next campaign.

Speaking to Diski365 at the launch of KZN Premier’s Cup, Pitso Dladla revealed that they have found the three players they were looking to sign and will unveil them next week.

“We’re only short with three players but those players have been confirmed, it’s just a matter of them joining us next week. We’ll wait, when they are there and we will unveil them. And then our squad will be 100% full,” Dladla told Diski365.

Most of the time, a team that just got a promotion from Glad Africa Championship (newly renamed Motsepe Foundation Championship) fight not to find themselves in the mix of relegation zone. Now, Richards Bay coach says as much as they’ll respect the league and the clubs at the highest level but they have to enjoy themselves.

“In one of the meetings, our chairman alluded on that we need to be realistic, for us is to make that we go there enjoy ourselves but also respect the league, the DStv Premiership is a very difficult league so for us is just to be in a healthy position not to find ourselves fighting relegation because that one is not healthy. As long as we’re not fighting relegation, that will be okay.

“I think Premier’s Cup is a very, very good initiative, it’s a friendly game that is competitive, you play also to progress to the semi-finals. So for that alone, it’s something that as a team we are very cautious of because it means if you can play two games, the whole team will have a chance to play, if you play one game, the other group will suffer because we’re regarding day this as a training day.

“But to also be specific, I think we’re fortunate to play Royal AM, a team that did well in terms of all the teams here in KZN, they finished on top. So we got the right team for us to weigh ourselves where we are but currently we’re experiencing few injuries. I’m sure we’ll miss few players. In terms of bringing in old and new players, I think it’s already gelling in training and another thing that we should maybe mention, the players who were playing last season, 80% of them are still there, so it’s not going to be like a start, it’s a continuation.
