Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi Face Off Once More Tonight! Barcelona host Juventus in the UEFA Champions League tonight.
In this penultimate group game, Juventus have it all to do in the match. After winning the first match 2-0, a draw will see Barcelona finish top of the group.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will share a pitch for the first time in two years. Ronaldo couldn’t make the first leg due to failing of Covid-19 test.
He is fit and ready for tonight’s fixture. Ronald Koeman (Barcelona coach) believes that it’s impossible to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“It will be fantastic to see two great champions like Messi and Ronaldo, the best of the last 15 years.” Koeman said in the pre-match press conference.
It’s not nice to say who the best is; I admire both, because they are incredible and have given us great evenings.”
Koeman added on by saying that Barcelona has desires to win the game and cannot focus their attention solely on Ronaldo.
“We aren’t just thinking about Ronaldo, who is nevertheless a great champion, who always battles and scores. We think about tomorrow’s great match: we’ll have to defend well and keep possession of the ball.”
Barcelona is coming back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat in La Liga this weekend. Juventus on the other hand defeated local rivals Torino 2-1 on Saturday.
“In the derby we had a completely different attitude between the first and second half, winning all the duels. This is the attitude that is part of Juve’s DNA and must never be missing.” Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo said in his pre-match conference.
Pirlo also said that it’s impossible to select between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Ronald Koeman is right: it would be wrong to say who is better between Messi and Ronaldo. They are two phenomenon’s that put on spectacles for millions of fans. We just have to thank them.”
