Cristiano Ronaldo Tests Positive For Covid-19! The most high profile footballer in history has contracted the corona virus. Cristiano is currently in self-isolation and will not feature in any football games for the near future.
Cristiano Ronaldo will not play in Portugal’s clash against Sweden in the UEFA Nations League tonight. It is likely that Ronaldo will miss Juventus’ clash against Crotone in Serie A this weekend.
His status for Juventus’ matches after this weekend remains unclear. However, there are fears that the influential #7 will miss Juventus’ UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona.
The match promises to see old rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo take each other on once again. The two haven’t shared a pitch since 2018 in El Clasico.
The Portuguese FA released a statement in which they elaborated that Ronaldo is asymptomatic and is currently feeling ‘fine’.
“Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden.
“The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.
“Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in the City of Football.
“The game, counting for the qualification phase of the League of Nations, is scheduled for Wednesday, at 19:45, in Alvalade.”
Neymar JR, Kylian Mbappe, Sadio Mane, Thiago Alcantara and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have all previously tested positive for Covid-19.
