De Villiers: PSL CEO Alerts The Public Against Fake MTN8 Tickets

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Chief Executive, Brand de Villiers has warned members of the public against purchasing fraudulent tickets ahead of this weekend’s MTN8 final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.De Villiers said the PSL will be working closely with the SAPS and other security clusters to ensure that only people with legitimate tickets are allowed inside the stadium.mtn8 cup

“Together with the police, we will be on high alert on Saturday in the look-out for people selling or purchasing fraudulent tickets for the final. This practise is illegal and we want to warn the public not to be duped by those selling fraudulent ticket. If someone is caught with a fraudulent ticket, they will be arrested. We know that fraudsters will be in the lookout for desperate people and we urge football lovers to be vigilant,” the PSL CEO said.

PSL Head of Safety and Security, Phillip Masimong added: “We have been working around the clock with SAPS and private security to ensure that those attending the final are safe. We urge those who do not have tickets to stay at home and watch from television.”

Kaizer Chiefs will play Ajax Cape Town at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 15h00 on Saturday, 19 September 2015.

At last year’s MTN8 final in Durban, the SAPS arrested several people who were in possession of fraudulent people. They were successfully prosecuted by the courts.
