Ricardo Nascimento has been announced as the newest Royal AM player. He has thanked previous club Mamelodi Sundowns for all the years he spent with the club.
Nascimento spent six trophy laden years with Masandawana. These include 4 consecutive PSL titles, the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, MTN 8 and CAF Super Cup.
However, after six years at Chloorkop, the league champions have asked to terminate the contract of Nascimento. This is to make space for a foreign player, as per PSL quota.
“I’m very grateful to @sundownsfc for all these years I have worn this shirt and for all the titles and achievements we have been able to conquer together as a team.” The defender said on his Instagram.
“I would also like to thank President Patrice Motsepe for all the support he has always given to me and my family. My departure from the Sundowns was due to a request from the club, which needed to open a foreigner spot in the team for this season, so it was time to say goodbye.
“I’m very happy to announce that I will be joining a new family here in South Africa, the @royalam_fc fc family. Thank you, President, @kwa_mammkhize for opening the doors of the club for me, for allowing me to wear another important shirt in South African football.
“I will do my best for Royal AM! I last, but not least I have to thank my agent @marcelo_robalinho and @thinkball_ for their partnership of years and years, and there´s more to come.” He added.
