Edward Manqele Still In Limbo
Kaizer Chiefs striker Edward Manqele is still in limbo at Kaizer Chiefs. New have now emerged that the payout Chiefs has tabled for the player has been rejected by Manqele and his agent. It is believed that Kaizer Chiefs owe the player some money for his signing when he got to the team. Negotiations have reached a deadlock.
Manqele’s contract comes to an end at Kaizer Chiefs this year and news of extending have not been in favor of the player as he has not seen much game time at Kaizer Chiefs in the last season. In most games, Manqele came from the bench as a substitute. Both Manqele and Sipehelele Mthembu could be leaving Naturena. Manqele is on Chiefs transfer list and will leaving Amakhosi. There has not been news of contract extensions. It is however complicated if Manqele owes his agent or Kaizer Chiefs owe both the agent and Manqele.
What causes a team to owe a player? These are some of the questions which are sinister yet for a young boy sitting at home with hopes of playing professional football, this question matters. What is the role of the agent in negotiating for a player? How does financial management of players work? We hope that this matter gets resolved and Manqele is back on the field playing his best game and scoring goals.
