Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns Striker Kermit Erasmus Finds New Home as Magesi FC Signs Two Ex-Pirates Stars

Veteran South African striker Kermit Erasmus has surprised many by securing a move to Casric Stars, while bottom-placed Magesi FC bolstered their squad with the signings of two former Orlando Pirates players.

Kermit Erasmus Joins Casric Stars

The 34-year-old Erasmus, known for his versatility and creativity in attack, had been a free agent since his release from Orlando Pirates during the summer transfer window.

Initially, Erasmus had his sights set on staying in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), with Chippa United reportedly showing interest in his services. However, no deal materialized, leaving the experienced striker without a club for months.

Casric Stars, a second-tier side competing in the National First Division (NFD), have now stepped in to secure the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward. The signing is seen as a major coup for the ambitious club, which is currently chasing promotion to the PSL. Casric Stars are sixth on the NFD table, seven points behind leaders Durban City after 16 matches. Erasmus is expected to provide the creative spark needed to close that gap and push for promotion.

Magesi FC Strengthens with Ex-Pirates Duo

Meanwhile, Magesi FC, currently struggling at the bottom of the PSL table, has announced the signings of two former Orlando Pirates players, Ntsako Makhubela and Lehlohonolo Mtshali.

Makhubela and Mtshali arrive at Magesi FC with experience that could prove vital in the club’s fight against relegation. The team hopes their additions, along with Camren Ashby, will inject new energy and improve their chances of survival in the league.

What’s Next?

Erasmus’s focus will now be on helping Casric Stars achieve their dream of PSL promotion. With his wealth of experience, the former Buccaneer will be expected to lead from the front and deliver goals.

For Magesi FC, the immediate challenge remains climbing out of the relegation zone. With Makhubela and Mtshali in their ranks, the club is banking on experienced players to inspire a turnaround in their fortunes.

As both clubs make bold moves in their respective leagues, all eyes will be on how these signings impact their campaigns in the coming weeks.
