Fadlu Davids Proud of Performance Against Kaizer Chiefs! The Team of Choice went down to Amakhosi last weekend.

Maritzburg United lost 3-2 at home to Kaizer Chiefs in the DSTV Premiership last Saturday. Head coach Fadlu Davids was disappointed with the result but happy with the performance.

Amakhosi took the lead when Keagan Dolly capitalised on a mistake from the opposition ‘keeper. Forward Christian Saile Basomboli doubled their lead 10 minutes into the match.

The hosts cut the deficit in half when Mogamad De Goede scored from a corner kick. Amadou Soukona equalized before halftime with a well taken freekick.

Yusuf Maart scored a second half penalty to claim victory for Amakhosi.

“This critical phase of starting a game, we started very good. On the front foot, creating opportunities and then a counter, ok the goalkeeper slipped, it can happen.” Davids relayed to SuperSport TV.

“But these errors are what’s costing us. The fight, the performance, you can’t fault the players.

“They gave their all. But yeah, slip in the box one side, slip in the box on the other side, it’s just been neutral.

“We started the game very well and that’s why I say this is the fight we need. This is the fight we need for our seven cup finals remaining. We’re going to continue; we’re going to continue with this fight.
