“Football saved me from prison,” Jomo Sono

South African legend Jomo Sono says he would have probably ended up in prison had he not chosen football as a career.

Sono who had a tough upbringing after the passing away of his mother when he was still young reckons he would have gone to prison had he not chosen the football profession,”It is true I would have probably ended up in prison had I not pursued  prison football. Most of my friends who I sold apples with when I was young all ended up in prison”, said Sono.

Sono made the remarks at an inspiration show in Nambia. Jomo Sono is one of the most successful South African footballers, coaches and administrators.
