Former Banyana Star Amanda Dlamini Off To AWCON As CAF Broadcast Analyst. The former Banyana Banyana and JVW FC midfielder Amanda Dlamini will be heading to the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) after bagging a gig as an analyst.
SAFA Head of Commercial and Marketing Dlamini will join Banyana Banyana and a few other South Africans in Morocco for the upcoming tournament from 2-23 July 2022.
Dlamini who was also a captain of Banyana Banyana has over the past few years become a popular TV pundit with her incisive analysis. She has become a darling of many viewers because of her calm and insightful approach to the game.
Having retired in 2016, Toki as Dlamini is well known in football circles went on to join one of the leading broadcasters in the country as a football analyst and has grown into a household name.
She will be taking both experiences of being a footballer and broadcaster to the AWCON, which will kick off on 2 July 2022, along with her growing experience in marketing the beautiful game.
She will join a CAF delegation in Rabat, Morocco as an on-the-pitch analyst for the 12th Edition of the Women’s continental showpiece.
“I am very excited for this opportunity that has been bestowed upon me, and I am very happy that I will be at the AWCON,” said Dlamini to safa.net.
“Women’s football is finally being recognised and this initiative by CAF will also assist in raising the standard and commercial viability of the women’s game. We are looking forward to a great tournament where beautiful football will be displayed,” concluded Dlamini.
The 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nation will be broadcast live on SuperSport, while the SABC will broadcast all of Banyana Banyanas matches.
The tournament kicks off on the evening of 2 July when hosts Morocco face Burkina Faso at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
