Tlhopie Motsepe Excited to Extend Contract of Rulani Mokwena! The Brazilians have pinned down their head coach.

Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contract of Rulani Mokwena to a further four years. Club chairman Tlhopie Motsepe is thrilled to have him for longer.

Mokwena began his journey at Mamelodi Sundowns as the youth team development head coach for the Multichoice Diski Challenge side. He progressed to one of the assistant coaches to Pitso Mosimane after proving his worth in the side.

Shorts stints as head coach at Chippa United and Orlando Pirates followed but were not successful as he returned to assist Mosimane at the Brazilians. After Jingles left in 2020, he became the co-coach alongside Manqoba Mngqithi, assisted by Steve Komphela.

In October last year, Mokwena was made the sole head coach of the team. He led the team to a 6^th successive league title this season.

He was named the DSTV Premiership Coach of the Season after this accomplishment.
