The hosts scored the only goal of the game in the first half through Neo Maema. The visitors had their fair share of chances which they simply couldn’t take.

“What do you want to say? I thought we were the better team, created the most chances but you’ve got to score against a team like this.” Hunt said to SuperSport TV.

“We came up here with a patched-up team, there were a lot of players out. Seven players out of the starting XI.

“But I can’t knock the players, we kept going, kept going. But you’ve got to put the ball in the back of the net, and obviously they got a very lucky goal. A tackle, a bobble, it bounced and fell to the player [Neo Maema].

“So, a bit unfortunate because I think we created the better chances. They can have the ball, of course, they fanny about it all day. We good you know, we are good, I can’t complain the players were unbelievable.” The Matsatsantsa coach stated.

Hunt was asked whether he expected Mamelodi Sundowns to approach the game the way they did.

“They’ve changed the way they play a little bit, the last couple of weeks and I though, ‘we got what we got and we’re thin, lets just go with what we’re good at and what we know’. I thought Thapelo [Maseko] should have scored, they youngster, we should have scored. In the first 5 minutes he went through with the ‘keeper, doesn’t score. And obviously things happen, very unfortunate.

“But I commend the players, they were magnificent. That’s what we got here, we got a good bunch, they work hard you know. They’re honest and all I can ask of them is to be honest with me and honest with the game because I always say that the game will reward you. When you’re honest with the game, football will reward you. If you cheat the game, it will catch up with you.

“And we know what happens in football. I believe that we were good, and we just got to commend them [Mamelodi Sundowns]. They are how many points clear now? They should be able to do it [win the league] quite easily now.” He concluded.
