Gavin Hunt Claims That Football Is A Funny Game! Kaizer Chiefs heroically defeated Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

It was a victory for defensive efficacy. Gavin Hunt set up his team to be resolute throughout the game.

This was a plan that worked as Pirates was the better team, but failed to penetrate the Chiefs defence. Hunt says that in previous matches they have played well but lost.

So, the coach stresses that football isn’t a simple game.

“I think we’ve played much better at times this year and lost, so football’s a funny game. We played far better in previous games, I think, and lost, and that’s how things work,” The coach told SuperSport TV.

“But the most important thing today is that we defended better. Our shape was better, we worked on it on the training ground and we were much more compact between the lines.

“We were much more disciplined today and far more patient, and that’s things we can only keep working on, on a daily basis.” He added.

Hunt was very happy with Man of the Match winner Njabulo Blom after the game.

“Njabulo Blom was Man of the Match, fantastic you know. He’s got energy, he’s got legs, it’s what we need, he’s got desire, we just gotta get him better, but he’ll get better.

“As I said, ‘Mshini’, Happy, I mean the ball he played through for Nurkovic, what a ball, fantastic,” Hunt said.

“He’ll get better, you need time with him, you also need players around them that can make them better. As long as they got the work ethic, Njabulo has got that, Darrel, these youngsters got it.

“I just got to keep persevering, I believe in them, hopefully we can get them better and better, you know that’s all I can do.” The coach lamented.
