Brighton & Hove Albion eventually lost the game 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Percy Tau was impressive in the hour of football of which he played.
He made several key touches, passes and dribbles. Including a now famous dribble where he went past Oleksandr Zinchenko and the defender simply fell as a result of this.
The Brighton coach, Graham Potter was happy to heap praise onto Percy tau.
“It is a difficult game for him [Tau] to start for a forward because they make you defend as a team. So that takes away a little bit of his attacking qualities, along with Leo [Trossard],” Potter told the media after the game.
“They both work so hard for the team; they work so hard and were fantastic in that regard. They grew and grew.
“He [Tau] has only been with us for a week, we have to make sure he is available for the coming games, good first game, he will get better and he will get a better understanding with us.” Potter concluded.
Brighton are currently 17th and only 2 points above the relegation zone. They have also played 2 more games that 18th placed Fulham.
Potter will be looking to break away from the relegation zone in the second half of the Premier League season.
