Grant Magerman Is Very Grateful To Be Part Of U23 Camp! The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder was selected to be part of the national u/23 camp in Durban.

The camp took place between the 21st and 27th of March 2021. It was during the FIFA international break.

The u/23 side has qualified for the Olympics in Tokyo this year. The purpose of the camp is to prepare the team for the auspicious occasion.

Magerman is hoping to be part of the 23-man squad that will represent South Africa in Tokyo. In addition to this, the camp provides Magerman with much needed game time.

He transferred from Cape Town Spurs (fka. Ajax Cape Town) in the close season. He has struggled for game time with The Brazilians this season.

“Firstly it’s an honour to be part of the U23 camp in Durban, it gives me another opportunity to showcase my talent and ability and to show the coach that I deserve to be part of the team for final selection.” He tells the club website.

“It also gives me a chance to build up my confidence and makes me go back to the club with a good mentality and a positive mindset.” Magerman adds.

His biggest goal of this season is to make the u/23 side that travels to Tokyo for the Olympics. It will mark extreme progression for the 22-year-old.

“To be part of the final selection to take part in the upcoming Olympics would be a huge achievement for me, it would be an honour.

“It’s an event that only comes around once every four years and it’s of the biggest sporting event in the world. It would be a chance for me to showcase my talent and represent my country and hopefully make the country proud, it would be an honour.” He concludes.
