Granwald Gives Credit To Roger De Sa’s Guidance
Ajax Capetown are currently the log leaders in the Absa Premiership with three consecutive wins, as they took maximum points from Maritzburg United, Free State Stars and most recently Polokwane City, respectively. Ajax Cape Town hardworking Granwald Scott has credited coach Roger de Sa for his role in leading the club to the MTN8 Final and the top of the Absa Premiership log.
Ajax will compete for MTN8 cup with holders Kaizer Chiefs in Port Elizabeth on Saturday, four months after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final last season.
De Sa is known for reaching the finals but not winning them. Ajax Capetown youthful charges also share the League pole position with Bidvest Wits after four games, with Scott paying his respect to Roger De Sa.
“I need to add that he is more than just a coach – he is a mentor and a father figure to the players,” Scott told KickOff.com.
“What I admire most is the fact that he is very approachable and accessible. You can speak to the coach regarding any matter on and off the field.
“I think that is exactly what the younger players are feeling and why the team is in such a good space.
“It shows in our performances and results as well.”
Granwald Scott feels it will be just reward for the Urban warriors to win against Amakhosi at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
“This would be great reward for us all – players, coaching staff and the management. I’ve been involved in six previous cup finals and only won twice.
“It would surely be nice to swap the tears of heartache for tears of joy.”said Scott.
