Every single team in the DSTV Premiership took the time to wish all South Africans a safe and prosperous new year. We take a look at all the special messages which were shared by the teams in the topflight.
2021 was a league year which was similar to the previous four years. The league was won by Mamelodi Sundowns for a fourth consecutive season.
The year before that, 2020, was a bit more competitive as we saw Kaizer Chiefs almost win the league. They dropped points on the final day to give The Brazilians a chance to seal the title.
Other than that, and a valiant effort from Orlando Pirates the season before, all seasons have been dominated from start to finish by Masandawana.
2022 threatens to produce more of the same behaviour. Mamelodi Sundowns already have a startling 14-point gap to second placed Orlando Pirates.
They are far and away the favourites to claim the DSTV Premiership title this season as well. This will mean they have achieved an unprecedented five league triumphs in a row.
