Kaizer Chiefs visit Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal this evening. Young midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala has urged supporters to come to the stadium for the match.

The last time the Glamour Boys won a trophy was in 2015 under Stuart Baxter when they won the ABSA Premiership. They have endured a painful trophyless 8 years since then.

The young Shabalala has rallied the Amakhosi faithful to go to the stadium in their numbers so they can try end their trophyless run.

“I can only say that they must come in numbers to all our games that we play. They are a great motivation to us, like an extra man in the game.” Shabalala told the club website.

“They help us to push more than the opponents because of their voices in the stands. They can help us turn things around and change the situation of a game, so I’m begging, please come in numbers and help us try to win the Nedbank Cup,” he spoke.

Amakhosi are two points behind rivals Orlando Pirates in the DSTV Premiership table, who occupy second spot behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns. They are still in the running to finish in a CAF Champions League spot.

“We are conditioning ourselves very well. We are going to need a lot of rest in between the matches so that we can have more energy when we play, but I believe we can do it.” He concluded.
