Highlands Park sent packing, Pirates fail to make top 8.
Highlands Park were relegated to the NFD after spending only one season in the top-flight, in a campaign which they had three coaches in Allan Freese, Gordon Igesund and then the duo of Thierry Mulonzo and Les Grobler.
The Thembisa oufit needed needed nothing but a win to make sure that they avoid automatic relegation, however they only managed to hold Sundowns to a 2-2 draw in what was a nervy encounter, with Sundowns also in need of a win to finish 2nd.
Mulonzo says ” we have to go away and regroup, do some introspection, see where it went wrong and go to the NFD and give it a push and come back”.
Pirates failed to make the top 8 for the first time in the PSL era after losing 2-1 to Golden Arrows. The sea robbers finished the campaign on a poor 11th spot with only 6 wins to their name.
