Broos has been lambasted for his decision to exclude Sundowns’ Andile Jali and Themba Zwane and it seems like he’s adamant on that.

The last Bafana game was a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of France where the Belgian tactician said his young squad was out to learn.

Bafana were not part of the previous AFCON that was held in Cameroon after they failed to qualify while under Molefi Ntseki’s leadership.

As aforementioned, Broos has been criticized by many as he refuses to select the so-called experienced players but this is his chance to prove his critics wrong.

When he was announced as Bafana coach, he put his life on the line when he said: “If we are not qualified for that, you can kill me”

When he reacted to a draw, he said they have no excuses for not qualifying. “The plan is, first, there will be no excuses; we must qualify for Afcon 2023. No excuses. This will be my responsibility,” said Broos after qualifiers draw.

“We are rebuilding a team. We came very close (to advancing to the next round of the World Cup qualifiers).

“One goal killed us (against Ghana). Now, for Afcon 2023, there will be no excuses. I don’t have any excuses anymore.

“We must focus everything on getting to Afcon next year in June/July, taking place in Cote d’Ivoire. It is also important for the development and experience of the team.”
