Hugo Broos is not happy with the way PSL coaches conduct themselves when issues are relative to him. He would rather they speak with him and not speak about matters to the media.

Over the past few months, Hugo Broos and certain coaches in the DSTV Premiership have engaged in public spats. In fact, this has been exclusive to the coaches of the Big Three teams in the PSL.

Rulani Mokwena of Mamelodi Sundowns, Mandla Ncikazi of Orlando Pirates and Stuart Baxter of Kaizer Chiefs have all had verbal disputes with the national team coach.

Mokwena complained that the Masandawana players always return from national team duty carrying injuries. Broos responded back to the coach, saying that Mokwena should have directly spoken with him.

Mandla Ncikazi was unhappy with how Tshegofatso Mabasa was handled by the national team coach. The striker was substituted off after only 35 minutes away to Ethiopia, and then never recalled again. Ncikazi claims that this dented the confidence of the 25-year-old.

Broos publicly said, on the SABC, that Njabulo Ngcobo is a defender and should not be used as a midfielder. Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter believes that the Belgian should’ve come to Naturena and spoken about this instead.

“Listen, I won’t talk about it anymore. I have said what I said, and this is enough for me,” Broos said to the media recently.

“I hope, just hope, that in the future, if they are frustrated or they have questions, I will talk to them — why not?

“And I can understand if they have questions, or they are frustrated. But I can’t understand that you criticise a colleague in front of journalists. This is cheap.

“So, for me, this part is finished, it’s behind me, and it’s over. So, for the rest I don’t want to give any comment on that.” He added.
