Hugo Broos Not Ashamed to Lose 5-0 Away to World Champions France! The national team was humbled in their last match.
South Africa lost 5-0 away to France in an international friendly last night. Head coach Hugo Broos has expressed his urgency to give players experience rather than look for results.
The gulf in class between the two teams is of high value. There is very little that Bafana Bafana could have done to threaten the reigning world champions.
The stats of the match are simply humbling to say the least. South Africa did not manage a single shot on target, nor did they manage to clinger up a corner.
They had little to no touches in the French opposition box.
“We knew before the game that there was a difference in level between the two teams,” Broos told the media after the defeat.
“But for us as I said yesterday the result was not important, it was for the experience. We’re a young team with young players.
“We don’t have the experience that French players have; we don’t have the quality that French players have.
“This is the world champions. We fight for it, we did what we had to do, but ok when there is such a difference of quality, it can happen that you lose the game with this result.
“It’s not a shame for us that we lose the game 5-0. We know why and again the experience we have today to play against such a team is more worth than the result today.” He confirmed.
Bafana Bafana will look to have learned valuable lessons from this match. Hugo Broos Not Ashamed to Lose 5-0 Away to World Champions France!
