Hugo Broos Surprised Zakhele Lepasa Doesn’t Play Often In The PSL! The striker has done well for the national team once again.

Zakhele Lepasa scored as Bafana Bafana defeated Morocco in AFCON Qualifiers over the weekend. Head coach Hugo Broos doesn’t understand why the striker doesn’t get enough game time at club level.

Zakes has now scored in two successive matches for Bafana Bafana in the AFCON qualifying group. He scored the opener against Liberia in their previous game.

Domestically, Lepasa was loaned out to SuperSport United by Orlando Pirates in the January transfer window. This was an attempt wo win more game time, but Broos is still unhappy at the amount of minutes he is getting.

The Belgian wishes he could play more.

“I said it already in the past, Zakhele is always a player in his club who has problems,” Broos relayed to the media.

“He didn’t play in Pirates, now with SuperSport he doesn’t play every game or parts of the game and I really don’t understand it,

“You see I give him confidence because I know he’s a good striker. He’s a good striker but you have to give him confidence, first of all.

“He still has to improve but I’m very happy with him,

“Every game he played; he made an important goal in Liberia so I don’t think for defenders it’s nice to play against him. He’s quick.

“We always ask him ‘Zakhele go deep, you’re quick’ and he did it. I’m very happy with him and for me, it’s a little surprising that he’s really not a standard player in his clubs.” He added.
