“I never thought I would become a professional footballer”, says Sibusiso Vilikazi
One of South Africa’s top players Sibusiso Vilikazi says he never imagined he would become a professional footballer owing to a tough upbringing that he had to endure.
“The place where I grew we did not have any means whereby you could see yourself becoming a professional footballer. It was tough in those days”, said Vilikazi.
Having grown up in Soweto where played in several amateur tournaments Jack Ndlovu spotted Vilikazi and recommended to Eric Tinkler that he try him out.Since being handed the opportunity of a trial at Bidvest Wits, Vilikazi never looked back.
In 2014 the the Bidvest player racked in three awards including the prestigous footballer of the year accolade.
