“I’d Rather Win CAF Champions League Than PSL,” Says Pitso Mosimane
This might come as a shocker to Sundowns fans but Pitso Mosimane has his eye on the CAF League more than he has on the PSL. “I’d rather win CAF Champions League than PSL,” says Pitso Mosimane.
Sundowns are currently second placed on the ABSA Premiership standings, two points behind Bidvest Wits who are on top of the league.
In a recent interview with CAF’s official website, Mosimane revealed his plans for the club. “Rather than winning the league and Nedbank Cup, I would rather win the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup. Domestically we might not win anything but we can go to the FIFA Club World Cup in December, that for me is history for Sundowns,” he said.
Mosimane says he knows it’s not going to be easy for the club because most clubs know who Sundowns is. “We have the experience now and know what is needed to get positive results out of such matches. We have the quality and depth and will take it one game at a time, just as we did last year.”
Sundowns’ first match in the CAF came to a draw with Ethiopian club Saint George only collecting a point. The club’s next match in the CAF will be against the DRC’s AS Vita Club on May 24 in Kinshasa.
