Is keeping Shakes Mashaba a big mistake?
Different reactions followed the South African Football Associations’ announcement that Shakes Mashaba will be remaining as Bafana Bafana’s head coach despite failing to win a single match in current Afcon qualifiers.
There had been reports of SAFA preparing to sack Shakes Mashaba who is clearly struggling for results. The South African football governing body however denied such allegations pointing out the experienced gaffer will be remaining at the helm of the Bafana Bafana squad.
For some the decision to stick with Mashaba is protecting mediocrity while for others sacking the experienced gaffer would distabilise things and kill continuity.
